2014 is a brand new year with new travel plans and a new destination. I'm always excited to see new places
I started my first trip alone for the first time 18 years ago, since then I never stop travelling
My furthest trip for the first time to South east Asia about 18 years ago. I was young and naive, as a solo traveler without any experience was an excited moment, I only have my Lonely Planet guide book with me
The guide book is more like a bible to me. I never travel without it, is my travel buddy book
As you can see my origin is from Asia, that is why I love Asian country
I came to Belgium in 1985. Living in this country you must learn to speak their language Dutch and French, is not an easy tasks to do but once you understand it's a very nice language to hear
l live in West Flanders of Belgium "Ypres". very nice town. We speak an (Ieperse dialect and accent) if we used our dialect to other places in Belgium, nobody will understand us. For the convenient to other Belgians, we try to speak nicely Dutch if we happen to be in bigger cities. But as long as we in West Flanders no one speak beautiful Dutch here except the tourists from other cities
My place Ypres is also one of the most visited area after "Bruges", we're closed to the border of France and Holland
Ypres has a lot of history after the first war, which receive many tourists from around the world
European countries has many languages and of course English is acceptable everywhere, traveling in some European countries we sometimes encounter with the language and it's perfect if you already understand and speak some of the them
My top destination!
Besides to all the country I have been, New Zealand was the best place I ever been! though was a long flight from Brussels, 48 hours underway including layover. No regret at all, it's worth to do so, even though how exhausted I am
"There's something in that land that I can't describe"
Still my number one top destination!
My first impression was one of their immediate surroundings environment and scenery
It was first ever glimpse from the plane when landing into Christchurch where our trip started and cross to the north island. Most I noticed New Zealand was clean and green and the stark difference in weather.
New Zealand is full of adventure and tranquility all at the same time the locals are very welcoming with their laid back style and friendly smiles
The scenery is another amazing contrast in this unique travel destination
Love the American way!
Always coming back for different route and I love driving around feeling free! in compare to Europe
We visited Arches National Park in May, is a paradise for photographers under conditions of constantly changing light, the red rock landscape provides limitless photographic opportunities. It was very hot during that time of the year, I wonder how about in the summer months what could the weather brings
Arches in Utah is beautiful, nowhere in the world so many natural rock like Arches many bows came in the parks are all sort of other oddly shaped rock formations
Around the park is very easy to access via the 18-mile road and there's also a walking path
I have always been fascinated by nature and I know Costa Rica is well-known for its rainforest and yes indeed they are. I'm glad I have done and seen it
We were on a travel group which is seldom happen to us. We always prefer to do our own trip, but this time we would like to cross to the border of Nicaragua and Panama and we like to combined the three land in short limited time.
Without so much hassle with the immigration border documents and our tour guide arranged everything.
After this never ever happen again, it was our first and the last joining in a group trip. We are too adventurous is not our type of thing travel in group
Flying from Brussels to Latin America is the most expensive fare on the trip. For us the cheapest route is flying through America and connected to Buenos Aires. We could have a directly route through Spain, and that is a very expensive airplane fare
Explore the city for a few days before heading out to different places in Argentina with a rental car
We didn't take a risk driving in the city of BA,
Having your own wheel is the easiest way to explore the country which in some places not reachable by public transport
Buenos Aires its such a big city, worth to stop by, before continuing your trip
We also have such a long trip behind. Three nights in BA was enough for us to explore all the city sites
It's my second time in Aussie, the first time was about 10 years ago. I done the Northern and Southern part of the country. December -January 2012-2013 back again and did the other part of the country.
It was a summer time in Aussie during our visit. High season, school, Christmas holiday. And in some places the temperature was unbearable in 2013
This time I have the chance to visit the Kangaroo Island and Tasmania, it's absolutely beautiful islands of Australia
My most experience on this trip is I was able to feed the kangaroos and seen so many wildlife in the island
Tasmania is another story, we're almost stuck here during the bush fire in 2013. We were so lucky the fire started the last days of our trip
I visited Iceland in 2013. Apparently this was not in my travel list, but after seeing a lot of photos here in VT I decided to go and explore the country
I know the temperature can be a lot cooler than in Belgium. That is why I'm hesitating to go. We have visited Iceland in August it was the best time to travel around because is summer
I've read a lot here in VT that the easiest way to see is in the ring road. We rented a car for a week and drove the ring. Summer months is very crowded in Iceland.
Hard to see the difference between the locals and the tourists, we've meet many different nationalities in hotel where we staying
Summer months are very touristy which I don't like to travel during peak season but is the best time to travel to this land
It was absolutely a very surprise trip, I wasn't expected that so beautiful
The most stunning place I seen in the country when we were in the glacier lake area
I could sit there whole day and watch the lake and listen to the ice cracking, it was so wonderful feeling !
After a few times of going back to Italy, I have seen the whole country this time. My last visit December during Christmas 2013
Italy is huge and spread in small places. For me I can go back every weekend and spent every time in different places, as this land has many gateways to flying into and is just 1 hour fly from Brussels
And indeed after several times of flying in and out the country I now see the entire Italy
And I may now compare which part of the country is most beautiful. And of course each of us has different opinion and taste of every places
The northern side is very touristy which is most visited part of Italy.
My preference is at the Southern part which is less touristy and less visited area
