now i know why VT is distinctive from other social e sites on line - - - - - it is because of the PEOPLE.
after reading the pages of some of the VT members i am revising my homepage so as to make an attempt to travel in writing at par with my fellow/senior VT confederates. i just hope that i can do this and give an explicit description of what i need to share.
l
they call me bert, a constant traveler. my average trip(s) outside of my domain is one destination each month or at least 10 places a year. be it on leisure or on business trip, i make it a point to broaden my sight and mind to appreciate and truly enjoy the escapade every moment offered. some photos i can show but sad to say that packing is really not my cup of tea that often i forget my camera on minor travels. only my lucid memories to recall. but on long and major ones, the pack list is well prepared way way ahead and the CAMERA is a priority (i use to be a good camera aficionado with all the photo trainings and competitions i have joined many years ago). my journeys took me almost to half of asia, to U.S. of A. and to Australia. yet, i still have places to visit and . . . . . miles to go before i sleep, so to say.
of all the places i have gone to, still, i find that our country has the most to offer. unchartered, left behind and can be traced through words of mouth only, i was able to confirm this through my other leisure pursuit, which is my mountain biking. my reliable full suspension bike took me to extraordinary places - mountains, seas, flats, etc - that no ordinary traveler may have done or may do in his life. on these experiences i have truly appreciated and loved the people i went with, the people i talked to and the different modes of communication that we and they convey. it is sooo fantastic. the philippines, is indeed, a beautiful country and i treasure this. i take pride of being a citizen.
i had the pleasure of exploring our own little regions and learning their unique cultures like Palawan, Negros, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Camiguin, Subic, Baguio, La Union, Mindoro, Bicol (3 provinces), Baler, Sierra mountain, Quezon, Sulu sea and so on. the total experience is staggering. different identities intersect the boundaries as you understand each social structure. Amazing...
i have yet to see Zamboanga and Basilan with all their own troubles; Samar, its pacific side; Siargao, again the pacific line; San Vicente, Cagayan, its unrelenting sea; and the Beautiful Batanes.
the question is. . . . may i travel with you? or will you join me? for the experience. i just hope.
i submit.
