    Just been to Mauritius and have seen some of the hotels on the West Coast. Le Paradis and Dinarobin are indeed very nice hotels and excellent for sailing etc..It's also very close to a beach in Le Morne where Ive seen people doing kitesurfing..looks like the best spot to do it in Mauritius.

    You can also stay in Tamarin which is not too far from LE Morne. There is the Tamarin Hotel or in Flic en Flac you have la Pirogue, Hilton, Sofitel etc.

    I stongly recommend you driving around as the sceneries are amazing...also a very great sunset in the West coast. I booked a car for around 25 euros per day and for an extra 20 euros i got an airport transfer...that means i saved the 100 euros i would have had to pay for a hotel airport transfer:) The owner was great and very flexible.
