Stayed for 3 days in Bergen in July 2008. Stayed in "Skuteviken gjesthus" just behind the Bergen Fort. It is a small guest house in one of the oldest parts of Bergen, dated back to the 1600's. It's very nice, they have 5 apartments. Self catering possibility and is renovated. The rooms had had separate bedrooms, and were very clean and of high standard. http://www.skutevikenguesthouse.com/englishindex.htm
Once you have no rain, Bergen is a nice place to be. It is nice to stay for 3 nights and then move on. We did the Natural history museum, which exist already since 1850, very impressive collection of whale skeletons. Also collection of Vikings artifacts. Walk the town, eat fish on the market at the end of the quay, and visit floybanen if you like. The centre of Bergen is quiet big and it has a lot of shops, enought to do for a couple of days. |
