Taling Chan Floating Market

The atmosphere at the Taling Chan floating market is very local and non-touristy less the hassle of touts and inflated prices. The vendors are very pleasant and polite and you can have an amazing Thai meal here . Visitors here are mostly Thai but it becoming more popular with Western tourists looking for something different.
I really enjoyed the canal tour at Taling Chan Floating Market.

The Siam Museum is a three storey building which used to be the former Commerce Ministry which was built in 1922 by an italian architect Mario Tamagno.
At the Siam Museum, you can take a futuristic journey through Thai history from past to present
On the 1st floor. why is it called the Museum of Siam? All questions regarding Siam will be answered here at this Museum as your journey starts on the 1st floor. What is "True Thai"?
On the 2nd floor, what was racially pure Thai? Who inaugurated Bangkok as a capital of Siam? Why did they change the name of our kingdom from Siam to Thailand
3rd floor......were the cavemen Thai? Where was Suvarnabhumi? What really is the heart of Buddhism? What was the origin of Ayutthaya Dynasty? Who was the richest man in Ayutthaya? Why did Ayutthaya wage war?

The museum is open on Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. It is closed on Mondays(.It cost 300 baht if you are not Thai, which is another case of ripping off the tourist)
