Koh Chang Island (Elephant 'Island) is a green mountainous Island National Park with many nice beaches & Islands .It is the largest of the 52 Island of Trat province. To get to Koh Chang you must first go to Trat,a small province at the eastern most frontier bordering Thailand and Cambodia.Trat is about 315 km from Bangkok ,which is about 5 hours by bus from Ekkamai bus station.
I can't help but noticed alot of changes the last time I visited and It now seems to be a developers dream and developing they are doing .Land encroachment on the eastern resort island of Koh Chang has intensified since the government announced it would make the island a major tourist attraction under its policy of turning assets into capital...making Koh Chang Island the next Phuket.Yes,more touristy,more expensive & alot of beachfront land being bought illegallly to build resorts which in turn distroying the natural envirnment.So it looks like " time are going to change for Koh Chang".
