Chail is a very small town in Himchal Pradesh, its pretty much close to shimla. Lots n lots of green all around. The air is fresh and cool. Long winding roads. Its a great weekend trip from Delhi NCR.
But if you are looking for lot of places in chai or some shopping then you will be disappointed. The town Market is very small, with very few shops here and there. The populalation is very low. There are lot of resorts and hotels, the one we stopped by was "Lions Resort" pretty much close to the Chail market.
The Main attractions are :
>The Palace turned Resort, great place to visit, its a state run place so you can also stay there, they offer cottages.
>The Kali mandir at hill top, if you like to click pictures, this is the best place you will find, the sunset is amazing from here, you can also see the snow covered himalayan range.
The Third one was a dissapointment, which was the highest cricket ground of the World!!! . There was a cricket ground alright but then nothing much to cheer about.
This was really a beautiful place to be in, its charged Rs 100 to view the Palace turned hotel but its worth it, the palace is very well maintained by the Himachal Govt.
It also offers cottages ranging from Rs 1,500 - Rs 17,000 !!!
It also offers a BAR, really good one, a restaurant which is like very classy, has very good interirors, the ambiance is great. Has lot of chandilier.
Its spread across a huge place, with lots of small cottages in its area, which surround the main palace building. The garden is exotic and very refreshing. i haev uploaded few of the flowers which i happend to click
all in all a great time to spend quality time, if you just want to sit back relax and enjoy.
The Kali maindir was around 3 kms uphill from our resort, as i mentioned earlier, we stayed in Lions resort. This place was absolutely amazing, the Kali mandir was very beautiful and it was just emmence bliss and peace to eb there. You could view the himalayan mountain ranges. The snow covered mountains can be seen clearly on a clear day.
the landscape view of the entire chail valley is amazing from this place. Its a treat for any photographer. You can just swing your lens and press the shutter, be rest assured that you will get a sintilating capture.
I will be uploading some of my catch.
Thankfully there was no rain during the time
- Pros:Weather, peace, valleys, mountains, lots of trees
- Cons:no shopping center or places to do shopping, very limited places to visit along in the town
- In a nutshell:If you are looking for a calm and peaceful weekend, where you just want to unwind yourself, enjoy the sunset with a cup of tea or drink, this is the place
