The VT 2008 Caucasian Challenge Team! | JohnSakura, Laurel914, frankcanfly, ant1606 |
UP AND RUNNINGHow great to finally see them all together! The VT team is off and running on their incredible adventure!!! Yes, it's official! Thousands were emailed, many applied, and four were chosen! The VirtualTourist 2008 Caucasian Challenge Team is now in place and ready to go on this truly once-in-a-lifetime journey. We had many wonderful applicants and it was an incredibly tough decision, but we are happy to announce that the VT team (in order from top left to bottom right) is:
ant1606 JohnSakura Frankcanfly Laurel914
We are thrilled that these four brave souls have agreed to take this challenge on and we've asked them to add to this page as they prepare and participate so be on the lookout for updates!!! In just a few short weeks that Moskvitch will be trudging down dirt roads filled with potholes, the fuzzy dice swaying back and forth, and there won't be a map in sight, so we're sure there will be a lot to tell! To read more about them, personally, check out the team page below.
Again, we congratulate Antonello, Joćo, Frank, and Laurel and look forward to seeing that winner's trophy in September! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ |

| | Support the VT TEAM!!!!! Budapest to Yerevan On August 30, 2008. A small group of intrepid VT adventurers will take part in the first annual Caucasian Challenge. A wild and woolly really through the balkans, across Europe, and into Asia Minor.
Along the the way, they'll be meeting up with VT Members and spreading the fun and games.
Stay tuned for more breaking news.

Cross the Bosporus channel into Istanbul and navigate the full length of Turkey along the Iranian border into Georgia. The route then leads down into Armenia and all around the politically uncertain area of Karabah before crossing the finish line in Yerevan.
Finish date: September 15, 2008. Location: Yerevan, Armenia. |
| | Thank You Organizers! As some of you may know, VT GM, Giampiero Ambrosi took part in the Indian Autorickshaw Challenge in 2008. He had such a great time that when one of those organizers and his friends in Budapest decided to host the Caucasian Challenge, he decided that a VT Team should share in the fun. Organizers Attila and Aravinda graciously welcomed VT and even decided to let our team use a beautiful Moscvitch car, which you see down below! We are really, grateful and very excited to be taking part. Thank you organizers, Attila! Check out their adventures in the wacky Budapest to Bamako in a bendy bus. Yes, a bendy bus! |
