Visit Like a Local, Not Like a Tourist! | MY photo, October 2007, DON'T STEAL IT! |
First of all, allow me to apologize for not having any hotel recommendations for any of you. I have close friends who live in D.C., so whenever I visit I simply stay with them...no need to book a hotel! But, despite my lack of hotel knowledge, I have plenty of insider information about the area, as I tool around town frequently with people who actually live there. So your visit to this page will not be in vain. I promise.
As a preview, here are some quick tips that are embellished further down the page: 1) Take the Metro, 2) Eat at Ben's Chili Bowl (it lives up to the hype), and 3) You really don't need to take the elevator up to the Washington Monument. All this and more if you scroll down below... |

| Pros: | "good eats, fun sites, and cool shopping" | | Cons: | "there can be lots of traffic, TONS of security, and annoying tourists (including large school groups)" | | In A Nutshell: | "Not your everyday fifth grade field trip!" |
