Even up until today, past the Neolitihic and Bronze Ages. We are still mystified by these "rocks". It is funny how well-known Stonehenge is and despite the fact that the main attraction are... well rocks... in the middle of nowhere... people still visit Stonehenge.
Here are some facts about Stonehenge:
Stonehenge was believed to have been used as a burial ground and as a a place of worship ( Lunar and Solar).
Up until now there are numerous speculations on why it was built. It ranges from human sacrifice to astronomy

Stonehenge: Visitor Guide
As any other ancient monuments, the building of the stoneheng took a lot of hard labor (or labour if you're in the UK). Stonehenge required more than 30 million hours of hard labor. Can you believe that?
I can, If you are not familiar with the map of UK, have a quick glance at an online map and then read the rest.
The rocks were built in three phases, and during the second phase, the stones were carried from the Preseli Mountains in Wales. I can't imagine what kind of travel these people made just to get each rock from Wales to Wiltshire, England.
So, when I went to visit Stonehenge, I was about 13? I can't remember. But I have always wanted to go here but for no particular reason. I just wanted to travel. I had to do some research doing my travel page, as I forgot every bit of information I learned when I was on my trip.
Anyways enjoy my tips.
- Pros:Worhwhile experience.
- Cons:Can't touch the rocks.
- In a nutshell:A Neolithic and Bronze Age Experience
