. . . spent one Sunday afternoon/night at Saratoga Springs (my first) in April, 2001 . . . stayed at Community Court Motel . . . mediocre, but relatively cheap . . . small room, excellent cable TV selections . . . cramped, old bathroom . . . glad we didn't really need the A/C because the ancient window unit didn't appear to be able to throw out much of a breeze . . . motel is nicely located on So. Broadway, right beside Congress Park . . . within walking distance to lots of little restaurants, bars, shops, etc. . . . ground floor rooms can have convenient at-door parking (if you get there early enough) . . . took pleasant strolls through town, window-shopping and gawping at some of the beautiful Victorian houses . . . on to Saratoga NHP the next morning . . . I would definitely return to Saratoga Springs -- but would probably not choose the same motel.

We definitely did return to Saratoga Springs in November, 2001. We were looking for a vacation that would be relaxing . . . out of NYC . . . and wouldn't require any driving. After a stressful summer and the WTC terrorist attacks, we wanted to "do" as little as possible.
