The Fúcking VT-Meeting | Globetrott, Anjutka and me (ltr) |
To convince The Censor and to terminate all suspicions about Fücking we finally held a VT Member Meeting here. It started as scheduled on September 9 and was expected to end on September 11 (nine-eleven!) 2006 and we decided to terminate it the next day without seeing the Pope on 9-11 at his birthplace. We saw the earlier part of his visit in Bavaria on TV and were really scared by the tremendous crowds everywhere around him. It was in some way a continuation of the Soccer World Championship in Germany.....
The meeting has shown us that VT-ers seem not to be too enthusiastic when it really comes to Fúcking. We could not understand why. We all knew about Fùcking before and what a nice and idyllic thing it is - and indeed not crowded, neither by VT-ers nor by others. (VT-ers at the meeting: Globetrott, the actual Nr. 1 in the VT ranking, Anjutka and me, both ranked somewhere among the top 1000). Here the "official" meeting picture, taken by Globetrott.
With respect to the weather the days of the meeting were a perfect choice. Warm but not hot, sunny and without clouds. And the area around Fúcking is surprisingly nice and interesting. Despite of our previous visits we detected a lot of new nice places. Accommodation, food and drink was also OK and no wish was left open. |
|  | Censorship on VT Dear VT friends and members!
Thank you for all your visits, ratings and great comments you made to this page (it was even reaching a top 1000 rank in the official VT travel page contest!). And you all know that I ONLY placed STRICTLY TRAVEL RELATED CONTENTS here (I think you all have been looking for travel related entries - if you had liked to see the things The Censor might assume I was posting here you had never visited this page because for this are thousands of pages on the web, many maybe even in far better professional quality I guess. There are even EXPLCITE pages on VT about all that what The Censor might suspect me to write or even to think about which have never been checked by The Censor (they have for example only 700 visits in total, a figure which I may enjoy from The Censor alone on my Fúcking page within a few weeks if I am not too lazy here. If you wish to know the link to this VT page you may ask me if you are already on my VT friends list.
I see that even the "cleaned" page had already more than 72.000 visitors which means that this page enjoyed more than 95.000 visits in total which makes it my by far most popular page - and maybe one of the most popular pages in the whole VT. I have no explanation for this high interest - maybe The Censor visits it several times a day as long as it is visible that I updated something on it. I am sure that all the other visitors already know since ages that there was never any pornographic content here and that is not imagineable that I post here anything like that ever...
The items not liked by The Censor here were for example interactive roadmaps of Michelin (under Transportation) or the most famous Austrian chocolates (under Shopping) etc., I do not need to repeat it, you have seen the pages and you may judge yourself whether that was travel related and connected with the place or not - especially the road maps!
I even removed myself contents in order not to violate sensitivities based on cultural backgrounds different from the European ones but problematic in fundamentalist puritanic countries with "split" moral scales like Afghanistan, Iran or the USA. (I received interesting letters to this!) But I admit that I am no longer able to understand The Censor's opinion(s) - that is all what he can blame me for. It was not even enough for him that I removed all the remaining previous content myself - of course connected with a remark why I did it. But I see that more than 23000 visitors of my page understood ME - The Censor's comment below is really the first negative one after more than 23000 vistiors plus the more than hundred daily vistors on the empty page!
I nevertheless have the intention to collect your letters and future comments and The Censor's letters and to publish all here one day.
One thing I was blamed for is that I built the page only for the purpose to play with the words. I did not invent the name of the place and who in the world can keep me from visiting places even for their funny names, I am sure that I am not the only one doing it, I was never alone there under my visits (the ancient meaning of the word in German is slightly different - it means in Southern German and Austrian dialects small repetitive movements.).
Interesting to mention in this context that The Censor himself has recently written a note which you find under "Community News" titled "The 10 Most Interesting Place Names" and it was quite a pleasure for me to find there as number 4 the German city named "Kissing" referring to my respective VT-page. And since all of you can easily find out - using the various route planners on the web - that it needs only little more than 2 hours to come from Kissing to Fúcking and only a few minutes more with the little detour via Petting.

Fúcking after the Verona Meeting At the great VT member meeting in Valeggio sul Mincio/ Verona 2005 I was lucky to meet a good part of the most prominent people of VT - the one who had the great idea of VT (tilman), the Owners of the site, the Director of Content (for me up to that known only in his activities as The Censor - giampiero6 - and last and not least the majority of the absolute Top members, among them the actual Nr. One, my VT friend globetrott (I never met him personally before despite the fact that we are very good VT friends since a long time). And all these prominent VT members knew my page, of course, and almost all have written charming and very positive comments to it and were sad about the censorship which happened and were waiting for the first personal meeting of giampiero6 and me. What you see at the pic here is the past and since there is no life without Fúcking all were happy that we seem to be able to find a new way of life.
My impression of giampiero6 as a person was entirely positive, I am even sure that he has a very good sense of humour in real life and I suspect that he often had a very good lough about some of the entries he decided to delete of "cultural" reasons. I am quite sure that giampiero6 is convinced that I have no pornographic or similar intentions with my contributions.
He strongly emphasized that all entries must be travel related and related to the place and not abuse the play with words. I try with my future contributions to stay in this frame - I even referred to webpages about pilgrimages passing this area because no other sites give such precise info about places to stay and eat in the area. So I hope this will even match with extermely strict "moral" requirements (n.b. Josef Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, was born 1927 in Marktl am Inn, only 15 km - less than 10 miles - from here!). | | | Giampiero6 meeting lotharlerch |
