It is Fugging - not Fúcking!

I really did not assume that I get so many visits to this page. I built much bigger pages about places which are visited by thousands of tourists per day and these pages have often less than 100 visitors. But this page of a place with maybe 100 inhabitants has already 600 visitors.

I go to check soon all my pages of minor places for the number of visitors and shall list those which have clearly more visitors on my page of it than people livingf in this place. This is normally only valid for good pages about Vatican or Antarctica but I have an other page of a very small village with about 100 inhabitants and 60000 visits - you may guess which one ;-))

This place is as small as the one of my most famous page (about 60000 visitors and 8000 ratings) but it would merit some attention - if not for the name so at least for excellent but still under-rated white wines.

It is part of the Gemeinde Obritzberg-Rust (2238 inhabitants) in Lower Austria about 9 km south of Krems. Fugging itself is - like Fúcking in Upper Austria as a part of Tarsdorf - a small fraction of Obritzberg-Rust, of comparable size but far less "famous".

Traisental - a still quite unknown Wine Region

Traisental is a wine region south of the Danube near the far more famous areas like Wachau, Kamptal and Kremstal. The closest of them is the Wachau but the Traisental has a quite different climate and other soils than the Wachau which means that the wines grown here have quite different characteristics. White wines are dominating, the leading sort is Grüner Veltliner.

The Traisental was long in the shadow of its famous neighbours but now they started intense marketing efforts and introduced as the second region in Austria the DAC ("districtus Austriae controllatus") but still many producers did not join this. Those who are already DAC members are now quite ambitious with their prices but you can be sure that you find a lot of good and fully comparable wines among them who did not join DAC and are clearly cheaper - just taste around and find what you like most!

Maybe a place for a VT-meeting as well

There is as much to see and experience as in its Upper Austrian "Twin City" with almost the same name. You may expect here reasonably priced accommodation but I did not test it yet in detail because I use to stay not far from here in Strass im Strassertale. There is one of the most attractive and interesting regions of Austria - the Wachau - in close distance - a bit more than walking distance but a comfortable cycling distance from Austria's most popular cycling trail in the Wachau. And while you may find close to Fùcking in Upper Austria nice beers (Schnaitlbräu in Gundertshausen) you have here some of the best wines of Austria not further away than 20 km or so.

In a nutshell:Maybe an other venue for a VT-Member Meeting ;-))

I think you could publish here everything which was deleted by censorship on your "most famous" page and no censor ever would detect it.
