WASHINGTON DC
Being able to visit Washington DC is to be able to look at the Nations capital city and to be able to enjoy its many sights and with so many on offer This can take quite some time..There are so many of the Nations Monuments here to visit mostly found along The National Mall..along with the Nations finest Museums ie: The Smithsonians museums of Natural History and The National Air and Space Museum to just name a couple ...but these couple can keep you busy ...if you don't mind museums that is...
Having the good fortune to live here for some time I must say there never was a moment with nothing to do....so many music venues...so many genres of music to enjoy..so many great eateries, bars, restaurant, concerts, shows, and being the heartbeat of government ,so many points of interest to see ...The Smithsonian Institute of Natural History was such a place..with numerous visits to really see what is held within...an amazing place ...and if you are ever in Washington D.C.put aside at least one day to visit and see some of the Smithsonian Institute. with so many places to visit here ..just too numerous to list...you'll have to see them for yourself..
So many americans know of a veterans name on this memorial to the fallen.I had a friend on here but I looked a few times but could never find his name...I always used to watch the visitors to this memorial with pencil and paper transferring the names on to the paper...so special...
(update) on a recent return to this site with more time I found my friends name...what a joy...I like others traced the name to paper..
This is a wonderful Monument of a couple of "grunts" so well depicted here in this statue of these soldiers of the unpopular Vietnam era...
- Pros:JUST SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO..
- Cons:VERY VIOLENT CITY..
- In a nutshell:A LOT OF TIME IS NEEDED TO EXPLORE THIS VIBRANT CITY

Thanks very much. This is more comprehensive than some of the on-line "professional" guides. I have made notes of places I didn't know about. Certainly the newer war memorial/statues are a must (we last visited in 1999). Even the Georgetown waterfront looks very attractive.
This is our next planned trip in the US, but in May we go to Germany for one month. Thanks for the nice tips and pictures
I'm so jealous you got to see the Spy Newseum... I've been reading about it in the paper so much and it looks like it's really a fun thing to do!
Hello, Denny! I see it's always busy here... I stayed there for a week and enjoyed every minute of it! So many monuments and memorials....
Nice page here Denny- Good work.
Denny, this page is really excellent! Great descriptions and photos. It makes me feel great that you enjoyed all that it has to offer! I would wager that most Americans have never visited there--what a shame.
One of my favorite towns. I've done it again and again....and always ready for more.
