HAMOLTON ISLAND
Recently I had the good fortune to visit Hamilton Island after a wonderful VT meet at Airlie Beach in Northern Queensland..a drive to Shute Harbour and a fast ferry ride brings one to this wonderful destination from the mainland..Hamilton Island surely is a part of paradise being in such a wonderful location such as this Whitsunday group of Islands in the Great Barrier Reef National Park..The only motor vehicles on the Island are for local Emergency Services and the movement of goods etc..locals and visitors alike drive little golf buggy type electric powered vehicles..The Island is privately owned and there isn't any budget accomodation available..There is a very large resort that caters for everyone and also many private holiday units to rent...The new airport and cheaper airlines has really made this part of the world more accessable and affordable.

WHERE YOU ARRIVE FROM SHUTE HARBOUR..

There is a large boat marina at Hamilton Island for boating and yachting enthusiasts that are sailing in around the Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands.
