"ARALUEN BOTANICAL GARDENS"..is one of those places that you just happen to find...a treasure in Southern W.A. South of Perth... it was originally set up as a holiday camp for THE YOUNG AUSTRALIANS LEAGUE by JJ Simons in 1929 on 60 hectares of land..it's located in a deep shaded valley with creeks running through and Simons decided to call it "ARALUEN" which means place of place of running waters..one of the many features in this wonderful place is the "Grove of the Unforgotten"in the memory of 88 YAL members that were killed in W.W.1..it really is a place to walk and contemplate...the only sounds being the water and the birds...
