Arrival in Denpassar was on a very early flight and not much was happenning. After the usual customs and immigration security it was outside into the Denpassar City ..capital of Bali.. A Taxi to my hotel and a good sleep..
Later in the day when I surfaced and felt so much better after a nap I decided to do my usual "walkabout" finding out what is out there and places that I wanted to see and to find some food.
I was staying in Kuta beach which is not far out of the city centre and this I found was an area of blanket tourism....here there were visitors from all over Europe and Australia mainly.. The day was nice and sunny and I decided to spend it and the next few days close to the beach and the water..There are no shortage of restaurants bars and cafes to be had in this area with a huge variety of different foods, nationalities .. The surf culture is dominant here with a definate accent on the beach and surfing.

  • Cons:THIS IS A DANGEROUS CITY..BEWARE OF ENTRAPMENT

    Sad to hear that Denpassar/Bali have gotten dangerous -- certainly makes you think long & hard about going there! As for "what happened in Bali" did you mean the bombings?
