I have been here 3 times and its a really really lovely city - despite the reputation it seems to have acquired! A lot of people when you mention Amsterdam immediately think of coffeeshops and the infamous red light district.
If thats what you want to go there for then fine, but if its not your cup of tea there is so much more to the city and its definitely somewhere I could happily return to time and time again! |
|  | OFF THE BEATEN PATH TIPS After arriving in Amsterdam on my last trip we took a walk suggested in my guide book which took us around the old waterfront area and around towards Waterlooplein. All the off the beaten path tips are from that walk as it was in a slightly less touristy area |
