I went to the island of Hvar, in what was then Yugoslavia (and now obviously Croatia) back in 1985 when I was 10 years old. We went for two weeks in October and I have to say that compared to Scotland at that time of year the weather was fantastic! Hvar is an island in the Adriatic sea and the main town on the island, where we stayed, is also called Hvar. It was a gorgeous little town and a relaxing place for a holiday.
Credit for the pictures has to go to my parents since I wasn't much into taking photos when I was 10 yrs old! |

I am sure that you will come back to the gorgeous island and town of Hvar. You came in October. Come back at the same time and avoid July and August, you might be somehow deceived as it is soo touristy at that period ! | Paul2001 Tue Apr 27, 2004 02:10 UTC
