Getting TO/AROUND: This airport, despite nearly facing closure in the 1990s, is now going from strength to strength. There are direct flights with the no frills airline, Ryanair, to many of their European destinations including London Stanstead, Barcelona, Oslo, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt Hahn, Rome, Dublin and Stockholm to name a few.
The airport is officially GLASGOW Prestwick but is actually in Ayrshire, an hour south of the city on the edge of the town of Prestwick. It has good rail [they recently built a train station attached to the airport] and bus links into Ayr or to Glasgow.

Getting TO/AROUND: If you are driving and hit some of the single track country roads, you'll find that they tend to have regular passing places. If you come across another car then whoever is closest should go into a passing place, whether than means reversing or not. Please don't use them as laybys to stop in
