Sno-Zone

This place is an indoor real snow slope and nursery slope for skiiing and snowboarding [and also toboganning I believe..]. You can take lessons. If you are up to the standard of being able to control your speed & turns & use the tow then you can use the main slope which is about 200m long. There are some jumps and things for doing tricks or you can just go straight down like me! I'd only been to a dry ski slope locally and found quite a difference being on the snow but it was great fun and would definitely go back

Equipment: If you have your own equipement then bring it with you but the use of boots & skis/snowboard is included in the price. Ski trousers and jackets can be hired for £5. Although its quite cold i found having a long sleeve top on underneath quite warm once i got going up and down. Gloves are essential though, but if you forget you can buy them for £12

We paid £25 for 2 hours on a Thursday night which was Freestyle hour - bit advanced for me really! Normally its £21 for an hour but I think they do different deals depending on time of day, number of people etc so check out the website before you go

Directions: Xscape, right next to Braehead arena

XSCAPE

I have been to this centre at Braehead a couple of times now. It has a whole range of activites perfect for a rainy day. As well as an indoor real snow slope [see my next tip], it has climbing walls, mini golf, bowling, cinema and a host of restaurants, bars and sports equipement shops. We played mini golf on our first visit and had dinner and I was there more recently to use the snow slope

Equipment: Equipement can be hired for all activities if it is needed

Directions: Its right next to Braehead shopping centre and arena and very well signposted in your are driving.
