This hotel is a well preserved old building in downtown San Diego's Gas Lamp district. The building was built in the early 1900's and is about 15 stories high. It originally was a bank.
Unique Qualities: Much of the original design from the bank has been kept. The main lobby has very tall ceilings that are painted beautifully. There's lots of marble and wood used in the design and it has been well preserved over the years. The basement contains the original bank vault that now serves as a conference room.

I spent a week here as part of a business meeting. I'd say it was not my favorite hotel I've stayed at in downtown SD. But the location gives great access to the waterfront area and close proximity to Gas Lamp happenings.
