......for weeks I kept wondering how Venice could have an airport when all the pictures I'd ever seen show a city with streets of water.
But sure enough, there's an airport!
Here you see the streets are made of water.....and there is very little "J walking" that takes place here....
During some months of the year you will need to wear boots when walking as the water level rises however all was dry during my visit.
In spite of all the tourists that come to visit this city there are still locals trying to live and work here so if you are standing around and getting in the way during rush hour you might get bumped into the water like almost happened to me!
