This amazing city is located in the southeast part of Liaoning Sheng (Liaoning Province) in the central region of the Liaodong Peninsular, in the Northeast region of China, formerly called Manchuria, is located east longitude 123.34'-125.46 ', north latitude and 40.49'-41.35' between.

Topographically it has been described as "80% mountain, 10% water, 5% farmland and 5% road and buildings". Officially Benxi is the "Center City of Liaoning Central City Group" and is renowned for its heavy industry base. It is also "a bigger city" as defined by the State Council and has received many rewards such as: A Superior Tourism City of China, An Advanced City for National Unity, An Advanced City for Administration according to Law and A Model City for Two Supports to the Army.
Unlike many places around the world Benxi has the full four seasons: Beautiful spring see mild winds, sunny days with the occasional rainy day or a storm or two. It can be a little hot (average temperature 24.3oC) and rainy during the summer whilst in autumn sees clear skies and cool days. The beautiful white winter sees crisp freezing snowy days (average temperature -14.3oC) and and the hibernation of all little children. Annually Benxi receives approximately 800 to 900mm rainfall with half of this coming mainly in July and August. So, the best and most stunning season for traveling around is autumn.
Benxi is composed of
4 Districts: Pingshan, Mingshan, Xihu and Nanfen,

- In a nutshell:Off the beaten tourist path this is a hidden gem.
