Getting TO/AROUND: Melaka Sentral is located at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak next to Tesco Department Store in the heart of Melaka City. It is an inter-states bus terminal. Buses to various major cities of Malaysia are available from this terminal such as to Seremban, Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bahru, Genting Highlands, Ipoh or Penang.

Melaka Sentral is the largest public transportation terminal in Melaka. It is also the first fully air-conditioned bus terminal in Malaysia. It was opened to the public in 2004 at the cost of approximately RM30.00 millions. It has two wings, one for the taxis and the other for the buses. Local restaurants and small shops and stores dealing mainly in budget clothings, arts and crafts, souvenirs, fashion accessories and watches are also located at the bazaar in Melaka Sentral. A wet and dry market is located adjacent to Melaka Sentral.

Getting TO/AROUND: Ferry is one of the best means of transportation to travel between mainland Malaysia and Langkawi island. There are many ferry operators plying the route between Langkawi and Kuala Perlis in Perlis, Kuala Kedah in Kedah and Georgetown in Penang island. The fares vary between RM12.00 and RM35.00 per adult and RM7.00 and RM18.00 per child one way. There are even ferries depart for Satun in Thailand from Langkawi.

The nearest point between mainland Malaysia and Langkawi is Kuala Perlis in the state of Perlis. It costs just RM12.00 per adult and RM7.00 per child. It takes just one hour to travel between these two destinations. However if you wish to travel to another popular tourist destination in Northern Malaysia, i.e. Penang Island, you may travel by M/s Bahagia Express. The telephone number of Langkawi office is listed below. It costs RM35.00 per adult and RM18.00 per child one way. Most ferries operate between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. daily.

A very informative page that shows the great variety of sights of Malaysia. The stamp museum must be very interesting! There seem to be many yummy dishes to taste! Wow, a hotel with 6,118 rooms, you have better not to forget your number!
