Buses to various major cities of Malaysia are available from this terminal such as to Seremban, Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bahru, Genting Highlands, Ipoh or Penang.
Melaka Sentral is the largest public transportation terminal in Melaka. It is also the first fully air-conditioned bus terminal in Malaysia. It was opened to the public in 2004 at the cost of approximately RM30.00 millions. It has two wings, one for the taxis and the other for the buses. Local restaurants and small shops and stores dealing mainly in budget clothings, arts and crafts, souvenirs, fashion accessories and watches are also located at the bazaar in Melaka Sentral.
