If you visit Uppsala in the middle of September, there is a chance that you may witness the hosting of the Cultural Nite (Kulturnatten in Swedish) in the city of Uppsala. The night promises to be a colourful cultural activity with lots of songs and dances. You may even visit most of the museums in Uppsala free-of-charge on this particular night. It is held at the venue along the banks of Fyris River right in the heart of the city of Uppsala.

Gröna Lund Tivoli, Stockholm: An amusement park

Gröna Lund Tivoli is located on the island of Djurgården in Central Stockholm. It is the oldest amusement park in Sweden. Gröna Lund was founded in the late 19th century. It is quite a small amusement park compared to those of the other amusement parks in the region such as the Tivoli in Copenhagen or the Liseberg in Göteborg.

Nevertheless Gröna Lund Tivoli has more than 30 exciting rides and attractions including five roller coasters such as Insane, Catapult and Jetline, haunted house, a funhouse and Free Fall Tilt which is the tallest in Europe with a total height of 80 meters. The view from the top of the tilt is breath-taking and spectacular, it has to be said.

Concerts by local and international artists are held during the summer months in the park. For those who are hungry and thirsty, there are plenty of eateries in the park to chill out. Gröna Lund Tivoli is opened from April to September each year. The opening hours are between 11.00 a.m. and 11.00 p.m. daily in July and August. Free admission to Gröna Lund if you purchase Stockholm Card.

Liseberg is an amusement park located right in the heart of Gothenburg. It is one of the largest amusement parks in Scandinavian countries. It is also one of the most visited amusement parks in Sweden attracting some three million visitors each year. It was officially opened to the public in 1923. It covers a total area of approximately 260 acres.

There are approximately 35 classic rides including the popular Balder wooden roller coaster. Water and thrill rides are also available for both young and old, big or small. Other popular attractions in the park are Ferris Wheel, Jukebox, House of Mirrors, bumper cars and Liseberg Tower. It opens daily from 3.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. during summer months. Visit Liseberg Amusement Park and your evening will be taken care of!

Casino Cosmopol: Casino visit

Casino Cosmopol is the largest casino in Stockholm. In fact it is a chain of four casinos (by far the largest) in Sweden. It has several classic table games for the pleasure of the gamblers beside the numerous slot machines which are very popular to the local and foreign tourists. They are spread over three floors. A bar cum restaurant is located on the first floor of the casino. However small entrance fees of 25 kromor for adults are charged for entering the casino.

Casino Cosmopol in Stockholm is one of the most beautiful casinos we have ever seen in Europe. As in many other casinos throughout the world, cameras and video recording are not allowed in the casino.


Dress Code: No proper dress is required. Decent clothing is necessary.
