Japan is located in the Pacific Ocean to the east of China, South Korea and Russia. It comprises more than 3,000 islands, the largest of which are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu and Shikoku. These four islands make up approximately 97% of total land area of Japan. Most of the islands are mountainous. Mount Fuji located not far from Tokyo is the highest mountain in Japan.
Japan has a population of approximately 130 million inhabitants. Tokyo is the capital of Japan. It is also the largest city in Japan. Other interesting cities to visit in Japan are Osaka, Kobe, Nara and Kyoto.
The following are two of our fondest memories of Japan:- |
| | Tokyo Disneyland Tokyo Disneyland is located at Urayasu City, Chiba outside Tokyo. This is a 115 acre theme park which was offically opened in 1983. It is the first Disneyland theme park constructed outside USA. The theme park consists of attractions such as World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
Tokyo Disneyland attracts approximately 10 million visitors per year and is one of the most visited theme parks in the world. It opens daily between 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. A visitor to the theme park requires day passport to enter the theme park. One day passport costs 5,800 yen for adults. Children below the age of three can enter the theme park free of charge. Make sure that you visit Tokyo Disneyland when you are in Tokyo for holidays! |
Expo '90 Osaka Our fondest memory of Expo 90 International Garden and Greenery Exposition (Flower Expo) held at Tsurumiryokuchi Park in Osaka, Japan was the International Exhibits at Aqua Hall where exhibits of plants and flowers from around the world including our home country Malaysia were displayed. The exhibits were so beautifully, colourfully and neatly presented so as to attract your eyes with delightful fragrance steaming out of fresh flowers and plants. Although Expo 90 Osaka is history now but the memory of those exhibits and fragrance is still fresh in our mind! | | |

Japan is such a beautiful country. | hunterV Wed Aug 5, 2009 19:46 UTC Hi, friends! You've seen so much already! Good for you! ><>< |
