A September afternoon in Montreux Montreux is a small lake resort by the Lake Léman, situated about 20 minutes by train or car from Lausanne.
Population: around 20 000
Montreux offers marvellous lakeside walks, and has a strong musical tradition as it hosts both an annual jazz festival and a festival for classical music.
The city is surrounded by high mountains that protect against the cold winds and because of this privileged location it has a nice mild micro-climate where palm trees and other mediterranean plants grow very easily. |
