If you want to spend a nice holiday with different things to do every day, then I would highly recommend Venice, Italy. I stayed at a nice hotel on the island of Lido, just 15 minutes by Vaporetto from the centre of Venice.

On Lido you have beautiful, clean beaches. You can rent a bike and ride around the island. You'll need about half a day to do so. You can also take a local boat and go and visit the islands of Burano and Murano. Your daycard is valid on both the vaporettos and the boats that travel to the islands.

When you are fed up with exploring the lagoon and the beaches, you have the nice centre of Venice to visit with the narrow canals, beautiful old churches, picturesque piazzas and interesting museums.

Really a nice holiday with something to do for each and every member of the family or the group you are travelling with.

The railway station in Venice is situated in the middle of the centre.

When you arrive by train, just walk down the stairs and head for the vaporetto station just across the station.

The vaporetto boats bring you all over Venice, even to the islands.
