"Misawa - my temorary home" Misawa by galaxyrain

My family and I have just moved here to Misawa, Japan (March2011). Aside from the devastating earthquake a few months ago, we really like it here. I have yet to explore beyond Misawa and cannot wait to do so. We live in a tower on the Air Force Base and will be here for at least 3 more years.

Misawa Beach

The sand on the beaches here is black and swimming can be a little dangerous due to strong currents. I haven't explored all Misawa Beaches yet, but I plan to and share my experiences. I enjoy the peacefulness and solitude of the beach I went to last week. If you are on the base, go out POL gate and continue on the "10" and then take a left on the "338" towards Amori and continue for a few miles. any paved or unpaved road will take you to the ocean. It seems like you are headed for woods, but it is so cool because the ocean is like right there and breath-taking.
