Come on down to the Ozarks!

by Kiisu - last update: Apr 17, 2005

The Ozark Mountains, in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri, is a beautiful, unspoiled area with warm, friendly folk who are happy to share their "little piece of heaven on earth" with visitors. Family values and common sense prevail in this Southern Bible Belt area. Locals usually have a decent sense of humor - think along the lines of the old TV show "Beverly Hillbillies"! It's a great place to enjoy nature, fish, hunt, boat, or just relax. Check out www.arkansas.com or www.ozarkmountainregion.com for detailed information. Please see my Eureka Springs and Mountain Home pages for specific tips in those towns. This photo's by my dear friend Yvonne Allison - it's of the Zanoni Mill in the Ozarks (on the Missouri side, actually). It's currently a Bed & Breakfast - their website is: www.bbim.org/zanoni/

Great Place. My husband and I flew in to their airstrip and walked to the restaurant, GREAT food. Smoked Salmon, choc covered strawberries, overlooking the lake. Our picture is on the website. Checkerboard tail. Red yellow black

Excellent tips; well written, informative and humorous. Just the sort of info a Brit needs when planning a vacation in the Ozarks. I hope the weather in September isn't like your traffic jam picture. My wife finds the cat picture particularly endearing.
