Barcelona is often referred to as the second capital of Spain. Many people compare Barcelona and Madrid, to which is better and which is worse. A certain rivalry does exists and I believe that it does go beyond the football grounds of el Bernabeu and Camp Neu I would say that they both have their own character and is unfair to say which city is better. They are both unique in their own way. I personally prefer Barcelona, but that is my own preference. |
| | Barcelona has a lot to offer. It is one of the most tourist visited cities of the world. The many tourist sites are easily reached. I have been to Barcelona two times now, and it has certainly gone into my list of favourites. |
| | One of the most important personalities, who influenced what Barcelona has become, is Antoni Gaudi I Cornet. He was an architect who was born in Reus (near Tarragona) in 1852. His work of art, because his designs can only be described as art, are truly magnificent. His most known work is the Sagrada Familia, a cathedral which is not yet finished but is absolutely impressive. |
