On my way into Ecuador, enroute to Coyacachi, I stayed at the HOthello and found it to be an excellent value. The staff were very nice, the taxi they arranged from the airport was very professional and a big help, the rooms are small - but very clean, there was plenty of hot water and just overall a pleasent place to stay. It was good enough that I stayed there on my way home also.
Unique Qualities: The location in the middle of the city made it very nice. On the corner there is a very nice outdoor cafe "The Coffee Tree". All around the neighborhood there are nice stores and restaurants. A nice Internet place is across the street. Just an overall nice area to stay.
