Getting TO/AROUND: We took the train from Interlaken to Bacharach (via Basel and Freiburg). It took us around 6 hours to get there (but we stopped in Basel over night too). From Bacharach we took the train to Hoorn (Holland) which took about 7 hours.

Category: Ship/Boat
Getting TO/AROUND: We used the KD Line ferries and the local trains to get around while we stayed on the Rhine. The boat from Bacharach to Koblenz took around 3 hours, and it stopped at most smaller towns along the way. The train from Koblenz back to Bacharach took about half an hour.

Getting TO/AROUND: We took a car ferry from one side of the Rhine to the other when we wanted to get over to Rudesheim... It was fairly cheap and a nice quiet little trip across the river...
