    • If you want to stay in a castle while in Germany you could try this place. It is fairly nice and worth staying there just to say you've lived in a castle. ;)

    • We stayed at the castle hostel in a small town called Bacharach - Burg Stahleck.

    We paid 31DM each for a quad room with breakfast included (but there was no bathroom in the room - it was just down the hall a bit).

    Unique Qualities: It was great to stay in a castle, although there was a young school class there at the same time and they were very noisy... Otherwise I think it would have been better! The rooms are nothing special but it was cool just to know we were in a castle. ;)

    Directions: High up on the hill in the centre of town...you can't miss it! After walking up all those steps you won't want to come back down real quick... ;)
