London Things to Do
Sort by: Most Recent | Best Rated | Author's Order

Buckingham Palace: Buckingham Palace
  • Tip Rating:
  • I guess most people visiting London wander past Buckingham Palace at some stage...we managed to catch the Changing of the Guards although there were too many people for us to see much... I recommend you get there very early if you want a good position for it... The Changing of the Guards usually takes place at 11:30 am daily.

When the Queen is in residence the Royal Standard is flown from the flagpole.

    British Museum: The British Museum
  • Tip Rating:
  • I really enjoyed the British Museum...since the weather was mostly terrible when we visited London in 2000 we spent a couple of hours looking through the Egypitian part of the museum with a free guide. It was very interesting!! I had hoped to go back again on our visit in 2005 but we didn't get the chance...

You can get a free map at the information desk which will guide you through the sections.

It is open daily Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 6 pm. Admission is free.

    Tower Bridge: Tower Bridge
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • The Tower Bridge was opened back in 1894. You can walk along the bridge and/or you can go inside. We didn't have time to go inside but just walking across and taking photos from the street was enough for us... The views from the edge of the river are fantastic, especially as the sun goes down...

I always enjoy reading tips about London, even though where I live is not a million miles away. I think we should recommend to the authorities that "Barking Town" and "Wagga Wagga" be twinned - That would be really kool - Woof, Woof ! Ha-Ha !
