We only got to spend a few short days in London in 2000 and most of that time was spent indoors because of the terrible weather (supposedly it isn't always like it was then)... ;)
We were lucky to get to London because of a big storm which cut down the Eurostar and flights etc...we were the last Eurostar train to leave from Paris so that was good for us...until we got stuck for a few hours in the train station in London because of broken down trains...argghh! We had planned to stay with a penfriend of mine at Bishops Stortford but instead we stayed with friends in Chiswick because had limited trains/tube to use...
We visited London again in 2005 and we had some wonderful weather (although it was still overcast)... We only spent one day in the city centre and the rest of the time with our friends in Stevenage and Chiswick.
- Pros:Lots to see and do...

I always enjoy reading tips about London, even though where I live is not a million miles away. I think we should recommend to the authorities that "Barking Town" and "Wagga Wagga" be twinned - That would be really kool - Woof, Woof ! Ha-Ha !

London is for shopping and culture. If you want sunshine there are thousands of destinations around the world which offer it - unfortunately, without either of the aforementioned. I am sure the English invented the umbrella for a good reason.
Hehe, oh yes Heather...we did go out in the rain quite a bit! :) Almost every photo of us we were drenched...haha!
Love the pic of tower bridge lit up! Too bad the weather ruined your time in London & you didn't see so much. I would just have gone out in the rain anyway but I'm Scottish and used to constant rain!!!
