A photo from the Butterfly House - Stockholm

I really loved Stockholm. We stayed with our friends Lotta & Adam while we were there. Stockholm has some wonderful things to visit and my favourites were the Vasa Museum, Skansen - an open air museum, Gamla Stan and the Butterfly House.

If you plan to visit any common touristy places while you're in Stockholm then I really recommend you get a "Stockholm Card". This card costed us 199 KR each but it gave us free access to the public transport & entry to heaps of museums and other places for a period of 24 hours. We got our tickets just after 10 am on the first day which meant we could get into something early the next morning and 'extend' the use of our card. ;) We really got our moneys worth with our cards...

Greater Stockholm has a population of about 1.5 million. Stockholm is built on many islands, except for the modern centre.

Fantastic page!! I've changed my mind about Barca & rome [for now - too hot!!] so now thinking of Stockholm!! Great tips, looks like a beautiful city! :)

A private tour of Drottningholm Palace must have been awesome! The Gamla Stan looks like a fun place to just wander! Sounds like the Stockholm card is a good investment!
