Wow, my dream finally came true...we finally had a chance to visit Egypt!!!! :) We used one stop on our 'around the world' ticket for our honeymoon to stop in Egypt...and used the chance to take a two week tour (with Geckos Adventures) - our first tour ever - while we were there. :)

We stopped in Cairo three times during our two week tour...I prefer to say "I've been to Cairo three times" than "I've been to Egypt once"...hehe... ;)

Egypt is a really fantastic place to visit...we didn't think it was as bad as people had told/warned us...I never felt unsafe, the hotels weren't crash hot but they weren't too bad, the food was good (except for on the train), we didn't get sick etc. :) To anyone scared of visiting Egypt, please don't let that be a deciding factor for you...it is a great place with lovely people and amazing landscapes.

And the history and buildings in Egypt...WOW!!!! I loved every minute of our time in Egypt...even with some 2 am starts and long train rides... :)

We visited Cairo, Dahab, Luxor, Aswan and Mt Sinai on our tour. On the rest of our honeymoon we also visited Bangkok, River Kwai, London, Hawaii and New York City.
