Getting TO/AROUND: We took a train from Cairo down to Aswan then from Luxor back to Cairo... It was a '1st class' train cabin that we were in and was actually not too bad. The seats were like business class in an aeroplane but the toilet was definitely not the nicest. ;) The train ride down to Aswan took around 16 hours because of an accident on the track (it's usually about 12 hours) but it was fun to look out the window during the daylight hours and see some of the countryside. From Luxor to Cairo it was about a 9 hour trip...

Getting TO/AROUND: We took a horse & cart to the Karnak Temple while we were in Luxor...it was a nice ride along the streets although some of the horses looked very skinny (others looked quite healthy though). Some of the owners obviously really cared for their horses which was nice to see...

Getting TO/AROUND: We took a donkey ride to the Valley of the Kings one morning...we had to get up around 4 am so that we could get the donkey ride in early before it got too hot. It was about a 50 minute ride from the edge of the Nile to the Valley of the Kings and it was a lot of fun!! :) We all had a lot of laughs along the way...

Getting TO/AROUND: As part of our tour, we had a cruise boat for three nights of our trip, we travelled from Aswan to Luxor... Our boat was named the MS Rosetta. It was a really nice boat (although a little old in the decor area) and it was a highlight of our trip. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and everyone had a window. They have a pool on the top deck, a bar & restaurant etc.
