Tumut Dam

The Tumut Dam is about an hours drive east of Wagga...it is worth the trip, especially if you are into camping, fishing, boating etc...

There are areas for picnics, camping, boating etc that you can take dogs and other areas that you can't...they are usually signposted so keep an eye out if you want to take your pooch with you. :)

The Rock View

This is a view from the top of The Rock...some time later in the year when the Canola is in full bloom. :) It's a good idea to take a picnic lunch or something up to the top of The Rock so you can sit and enjoy the view while having a snack. :)

On one trip around the Tumut area it had just been snowing so I couldn't resist stopping the car and taking this photo. :)

Canola Fields

Another canola field just out of Wagga (taken in 1996). The rolling hills around Wagga make for beautiful landscape photos... :)

Adelong Falls

Adelong is a fairly small town about an hours drive south-east of Wagga in the mountains.

Just out of the town you will come across the Adelong Falls...gold was once mined there and you will see some old buildings and things from those days...

Canola fields

These canola fields (also known as 'rape seed' in some countries) were found just out of Wagga (the photo was taken in 1996)...you will see these pretty crops from September to about November all around the city of Wagga and nearby towns... It makes for beautiful scenery when driving around the hilly countryside.

The Rock

The Rock is a town about 20 minutes drive south-west of Wagga. At The Rock you will find a huge 'rock' that you can climb...it takes about an hour or so to climb to the top of the rock (there is a walking track all the way)... It's a great view from up there!!

You can also have a BBQ or picnic at the bottom of The Rock where there are tables, toilets and BBQ facilities.

Also...dogs are not allowed to climb The Rock since it is Aboriginal land...so leave your pooch at home if you intend visiting there...
