Florence (or Firenze, Florentia and Fiorenza) is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany, and of the province of Florence. It is the most populated city in Tuscany.
From 1865 to 1870 the city was also the capital of the Kingdom of Italy. Florence lies on the Arno River and it is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance, the city is often considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and was long ruled by the Medici family. In fact, the city has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages.
The "Historic Centre of Florence" was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1982. |

the Uffizi ... world famous the "David di Michelangelo" ... cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore ... The Ponte Vecchio ... The Basilica di San Lorenzo ... The Santa Croce basilica ... and of course the Arno river. |
My experiences in Florencia was adversatives ... I like very much the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore and Santa Croce basilica.
And I like the aura at Uffizi ... In time, when we was in there, there guitar player, who played the well-known italian song Santa Lucia. That moment was unmatched ...
There was lot of things what leave me indifferent. Usually I like to do before my trip "home-work" and search the information about the sights but I don't like to listen on the excursions long time the dates and datums ... I like more the emotional feelings of sights ... | | |
