Pisa is a city in Tuscany, and it is best known for the world famous Leaning Tower. Pisa was the birthplace of the important early physicist, Galileo Galilei. It's still the seat of an archbishopric; it has become a light industrial centre and a railway hub. Pisa Airport "Galileo Galilei" is the main destination for Tuscany and central Italy (after Rome), and is served by several airlines operating hundreds of weekly flights to national and international destinations. |
| | The Piazza dei Miracoli or Field of Miracles is to the north of central Pisa and contains its most famous sights: Leaning Tower (Torre Pendente) Duomo di Pisa, the splendid Cathedral Baptistry
Pisa is divided into 4 historical quarters. There is much more than the Leaning Tower in the city and several different walking itineraries are possible. |
What I can say about Pisa? It was often written, that Pisa isn't only the Leaning Tower, there is much to see.
Even so the tourism companys show you usually only the Field of Miracles with Leaning Tower, Duomo di Pisa and Baptistry.
They let you take some photos, and ... the next city! It was happened with us too |
