Ceci n'est pas une tip

1) Petits Coins

One seemingly very pressing matter (for VTers) that needs urgent attention: toilets in Paris.

Check them out on this site and report back (to the site, not to me).
Also send your photos and tips on toilets in Paris.

Weak-bladdered tourists, strong-bladdered visitors, medium-bladdered Parisians, blasé connoisseurs of Paris's petits coins, bladder-conscious human beings of every ilk and persuasion, let's all unite to end this ridiculous toilet tyranny in Paris and get it sorted once and for all, if not for us, at least for the future generations:

Check this one in the Tratoria Mamia restaurant (Paris 13th), hilarious:

2) Meet the locals (and more, si affinités)

Be brave (and clever), visit Paris with a Parisian:

3) Nostalgia Lane & unusual flâneries

Paris of yesteryear, then and now

4) One for the road

Bar Le Pantalon, 7 rue Royer Collard, near the Panthéon, Paris 05. This chaotic place will wipe 20 years off your age. Make that 30 actually. Highly recommended.

Bar La flèche D'Or, 102 bis rue de Bagnolet, Ménilmontant Paris 20, or "Menilmuche" as Titis like to say (true Parisians).
More hip than hip replacement. This one will wipe 40 years off your age if you're not careful. "Décapant" as the French say. Most refreshing on a good night.

Le Clown Bar, 114 rue Amelot, Paris 11 (north-east of Le Marais).
Bar of the famous Cirque D'hiver (home to the legendary Bouglione family), the oldest running circus in the world and possibly the only permanent circus in Europe, and a fantastic piece of architecture. Hosts all sorts of events. This is no ordinary circus and this is no ordinary bar, the place is listed, no laughing matter. Full of circus and uplifting clown-related paraphernalia, and meeting place of all the clowns in the world (the real-life ones, otherwise imagine the queue!). Often imitated, never equalled, this is the real Mc Coy.

Le Requin Chagrin, 10 rue Mouffetard, Paris 05.
Best Happy Hours in Paris. Go there before HHs are banned in France (it's in the pipeline folks), and before fun is banned altogether in cafés and bars, can't be long now. Great crowds, buzzing place.

Chez Georges, 11 rue des Canettes, Paris 06, in uber-posh Saint-Germain. Squeezed between Rue de Rennes, Blvd Saint-Germain and Saint Sulpice church. Pay your respect before entering this shrine, this is arguably the last of the authentic scruffy mohicans in central Paris. Stuck in an inebriated timewarp, nothing has changed since the liberation, not even the boozy regulars who prop up the zinc. The old fella (Georges -RIP Jojo) has popped his clogs but his spirit lives on. Jean-Pierre and Nicole are at the helm, dishing out their most quaffable wines at laughable prices. Bottles can be bought and taken away. Cellar with mini-dance floor with the latest 1950's hits. Urgent visit is required before it is turned into some poncy art gallery flogging off hot air to misguided bobos.

5) Events

Go to a giant Dream picnic under the Eiffel Tower if you're in Paris this week-end...

This mad Frenchman, Christophe Vissant, is going on a wee run from Aubagne (near Marseille) to Sydney, via Paris ("sponsored" by Dreamshake.com a website that promotes "dreams" of all types -sporty, artistic, cultural, etc. they basically help people -for free- to fulfil their dreams)

Sunday 1st June 5PM, a "dream picnic" under the Champs de Mars will be held to receive Christophe Vissant who's just run from Aubagne (Marseille) to Paris and will be running to Sydney shortly after.

to GenuinelyCurious Excellent question. I have no idea. I only post fluffy inanities. Must be a clerical mistake.
