Whirlwind visit but great fun

My last trip to Melbourne was in the early 90s when I was pretty little. This was a quick trip to visit some friends and to really just sample the sights.

We did quite a bit of driving around and not all of it is really in Melbourne (we visited the Dandenongs and some of the areas that were so savagely attacked by the February fires. Apart from this photo of this fern fighting back from the ashes I did not take any photos of those areas. We had a lovely morning tea in Marysville at their wonderful bakery and I hope that all those communities can find some happiness in the future.

We also spent an afternoon in the city but due to the hurried nature of our trip I really neglected my photo taking and apologise for not having tips with photos.

We had great weather despite many warnings from everyone about the Melbourne weather and found the people friendly and extremely helpful although very mad about AFL. What a great weekend.

    A shame you weren't there longer but you've given us a lovely taster of Melbourne's delights. I confess I'd head for the Yarra Valley, being a wine girl myself ;-)
