"The Rugged Northwest Coast of Ireland" County Donegal by kathycollins
County Donegal Travel Guide: 273 reviews and 782 photos
Few areas possess more natural splendour than County Donegal. One of my favorites is Fanad Head.
We stayed in the little town of Annagary. The best part of this location is its central location for visiting the rest of Donegal, and the quiet, peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. This isn't a "happening" place, but a perfect base for exploring, and for peace.
The little island of Arranmore is off the coast of Donegal. You take a ferry from Burtonsport to reach it. It is a lovely place to walk, breathe fresh air, and enjoy the scenery!
- Pros:the less visited part of Ireland; you meet Irishmen!
- Cons:not a one that I can think of!
- In a nutshell:quiet beauty, inspiring
