How to enjoy England without spending a fortune! | Burford Church, Nr Tenbury Wells Worcestershire |
I am working on this page as a lifetime resident of England in the knowledge that many people visit this country of ours, spend a lot of money and don't see some of the things they should or would like if they knew about them.
I shall dedicate this page & my London page to giving our visitors better value and a warm welcome!
SUNDAY TRAVEL WARNING
In the London area there is a lot of maintenance work at the moment causing closures of Tube lines and overground routes on Sundays. Worth checking before you travel.

| | Where do I Stay? Its worth taking some time & planning your trip. As well as cities England has some of the most delightful countryside. If you search you can find excellent accommodation quite cheaply.
A bit of surfing will come up with some gems, just take the time and plan. A good starting point is the English Tourist Board.

B & B here is very reasonable compared to hotel rates and is often in a private house. Self catering cottages, apartments etc can be found quite cheaply. Out of season some hotels offer great bargains. Try this excellent site

The Youth Hostel Association offer excellent value all over the UK, don't be misled by the word 'Youth', it's for all ages.

English Footpaths England is crossed everywhere with footpaths which are public rights of way. All you need is a good map some strong footwear and you are away.
We walked this path in the April drizzle but the freshness of Spring was bursting around us. As we walked the smell of wild garlic was surprisingly fragrant beneath our feet and every now and then we smelled the acrid aroma of a fox marking territory. | | | Footpath at Murder Combe nr Frome Somerset |
