The Town of Chartres | The Central Market, Chartres |
From miles away the first impression of Chartres is the massive bulk of the Cathedral. It dominates and is the main reason why I and most other visitors go to this place.
That said the town (properly a small city) rewards a few hours ambling around. It has charming narrow streets an interesting fruit & vegetable market and a general feel of warmth about the place. |
