Bratislava is the capital and the largest city of the Slovak Republic. The population is about 450,000. Bratislava is in southwestern Slovakia on both banks of the Danube River. It is less than 60 kilometres away from Vienna, the capital of Austria. It takes 1 hour to drive on the new highway.
Bratislava is a quiet and nice city. The old town houses many historic monuments and old beautiful buildings with small restaurants, bars. The narrow streets have typical stone paving. And a big castle is located on a plateau, 85 meters above the rest of the city.
