This oldtown may have been the most charming with a certain degree of decrepity to it. Certainly, in the former Czech Republic, Slovakia received a poor share of the wealth, and therefore Bratislava does not boast a great wealth of great buildings.

BUT, that does not take away from the beauty of the inner city, with winding, rising and falling streets, and then the stark contrast between the humbleness of the town hall area and old town with the Ritz Carlton lit at night, and the communist bridge tower.

This tower is probably one of the most unimpressive tower aesthetically, but slowly I realized that the location, location, location!! is impregnable. It sit atop the only hill in the area, thus offering unparrallel city scapes of Bratislava.

Follow the signs and climb the hills. along the way you can see the massive UFO-like suspension bridge, like a dreary eye watching over bratislava. It is a modern element to the old perserved bratislava.

Along the way there is a lebenese restaurant i didnt get to try, and also more charming side streets, rougher areas with viscous stray dogs (ooo), and riverside restaurants that looked expensive. But its bratislava, so spend a little.

The castle itself has some war equipment, and most importantly, the Crown from the bratslavan king!
